For over 48 years, The People’s Nonprofit Accelerator has trained 30,000+ nonprofit professionals through workshops, conferences, and educational learning cohorts accredited through Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) International. We are also known for incorporating cutting-edge conversations, curricula, and business practices to address racial inequities facing the nonprofit sector.

Which Program is Right for Me?

Whether you’re an executive director, event planner, development director, board member, or brand new to the nonprofit sector, we offer educational programs that will build your skills and confidence.

If you are newer to the industry with less than five years of experience, we encourage you to connect with others in our Affinity Groups, as well as access on-demand learning resources in our Accelerator Learning Lab. You may also enjoy learning the ins and outs of fundraising through one of our Signature Certificate courses.

For mid-career professionals with five to fifteen years of experience, we encourage you join our Leadership Development Series Workshops for timely skill-building, deep dive Accelerator Programs, and/or enroll in the Certificate in Executive Leadership course to prepare you for the next step in your career. 

For industry experts with more than fifteen years of experience, building community with your fellow nonprofit professionals in our Affinity Groups, share your skills and expertise as a workshop instructor in our Leadership Development Series, and explore our Community Resources.

Signature Certificate Courses

Our Signature Certificate Courses, accredited through Certified Fund Raising Professional (CFRE) International, provide intensive trainings to transform your career by advancing your knowledge and skills in ethical fundraising and leadership. We offer three different certificates in Executive Leadership (10-month program), Grant Writing (10-week program), and Nonprofit Fundraising (10-month program). 

Workshops

We offer our Leadership Development Series workshops (one to two hours) led by local experts covering key topics in fundraising and philanthropy, mission-based leadership, and community-led board readiness. Have a workshop you can lead? Submit a proposal to be added to our offerings. 

Accelerator Programs

Accelerator workshops are 3, 6, or 9 hours of instruction from seasoned professionals on a particular fundraising or leadership topic with built-in EDIJ (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, & Justice) analysis. These will be similar to how the Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising and Certificate in Executive Leadership courses are structured, but without the 10-week to 10-month time commitment.

Accelerators are designed for those newer to fundraising, as well as for experienced fundraisers branching into new fields.
