Your to-do list is spread over two pages and each task requires a totally different part of your brain. You’ve got to get back to your board chair about that data they requested, submit the grant application before the looming deadline, send out last week’s thank you notes, set up a meeting with a major donor, and convene your volunteer event committee. Oh, and you haven’t checked your voicemail in three days. You know your year-end letter is the foundation of your grassroots fundraising program, but you can’t quite seem to make time for the creative process of writing an effective, joyful appeal.

Accelerate Fundraising Appeals is an intensive, collaborative, four-hour solicitation letter writing workshops designed for busy nonprofit professionals. Each class is limited to eight people so each participant gets personalized, actionable feedback. You’ll be guided through creative brainstorming and writing exercises to help you uncover the most compelling way to tell your organization’s story. Then, as a group, we’ll work together, switching between drafting and critiquing. You will leave with a strong draft of your next appeal.

It will be creative. It will be fun. You will feel great.

Tuition

We offer an accessible sliding-scale tuition fee structure. For those who are able, the Community Builder fee helps cover the costs The People’s Nonprofit incurs to host and develop the training. If you are able to contribute more, please consider the Equity Builder fee, which will increase attendance accessibility to our programming. Tuition levels are based on organizational budget size. Members also receive a $100 discount on any workshop.

• Equity Builder: For organizations with annual budgets greater than $1,000,001.
• Capacity Builder: For organizations with annual budget sizes between $500,001 and $1,000,000, and for individuals sponsoring themselves or unaffiliated with an organization.
• Solidarity Builder: For organizations with annual budgets under $500,000 and for individuals who are self-financing and identify as BIPOC, queer, low-income, with disabilities, and other marginalized identities.

About Presenter Marina Muñoz de Martínez:

Marina is a passionate advocate and practitioner of equity and abolition in philanthropy, who has worked as a nonprofit fundraiser for over two decades. She has found deep success in the space of individual giving – from complex direct mail programs, major to planned gifts – managing programs and initiatives with budgets ranging from a few thousand dollars to $1.5B. She get excited about sharing and learning new frameworks for ethical storytelling, and putting the social science of fundraising into practice with a community centric lens.
