They offer lessons on best practices as well as real-world expertise on the challenges and opportunities of today’s fundraising landscape.

About Certification

Our courses and programs can provide continuing education points for the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).

The People’s Nonprofit Accelerator is an Approved Provider for the CFRE credential program. Approved Providers are organizations that submitted their programs to CFRE International to review to verify that the programs meet CFRE International’s continuing education standards.

Only those Providers who have registered with CFRE International may advertise that the programs have been pre-approved by CFRE International for Continuing Education Points on the CFRE application for both Initial Certification and Recertification.

The Cohort Learning Model

We believe that learning in a cohort is the optimal education model. Cohort learning provides a deep experience for participants. Peer processing, reflection and support creates opportunities for growth that reach far beyond the classroom. Students in our programs make life-long connections with each other, with program facilitators, with instructors, and with the Accelerator community. These connections provide an invaluable, life-long support network.

Sliding Scale Tuition Model

We are committed to promoting racial justice by supporting BIPOC and other historically excluded community members to be good and successful leaders, gain access to tools, and grow their network of allies in order to use their power to change structures and systems for the better.

To this end, we offer sliding scale pricing to make our educational and networking opportunities accessible to all. The three tiers of pricing are listed below. The “Solidarity Builder” is what would traditionally be considered the scholarship level. Actual tuition amounts for each course vary and can be found under the tuition section of the particular course of interest.

Solidarity Builder
For organizations with annual budgets under $500,000 and for individuals who are self-financing who identify as BIPOC, queer, low-income, with disabilities, and other marginalized identities. 

Capacity Builder/Base Rate
For organizations with annual budgets between $500,001 and $1,000,000, and for individuals sponsoring themselves or unaffiliated with an organization.

Equity Builder
For organizations with annual budgets more than $1,000,001.

Refunds & Cancellations

We know sometimes situations change rapidly. Students who would like to withdraw from a course and receive a refund must make a written request to courses@thepeoplesnonprofit.org. Students withdrawing by 5:00 pm, at least 48 hours before the program begins, are eligible for a full refund of all fees. There is no refund for withdrawals after the first day of class. We reserve the right to cancel programs or classes with low enrollment.

Certificate in Executive Leadership

Practical knowledge and expert coaching for resilient nonprofit leaders. The Certificate in Executive Leadership is a 10-month program that combines coaching and theory of nonprofit professionals looking to level up their leadership skills. We developed this course specifically for mid- and senior-level nonprofit leaders with experience or interest in serving as an Executive Director.

Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising

Learn to apply fundraising methods and theory so your organization (and your career!) can thrive. The Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising is a 10-month program that provides deep understanding of the fundraising process: form identifying and qualifying donors, through “the ask,” and onto stewardship for long-term support. If you’re seeking a holistic understanding of philanthropy and the core functions of a development professional, you’re in the right place.

Certificate in Grant Writing

Learn practical, hands-on grant writing tools and techniques to win proposals and advance your career. The Certificate in Grant Writing is a 10-week program that provides a tactical deep dive into the realities of grant writing and will build your skills and confidence so you can create winning proposals. This course is for anyone looking to gain practical, current, and relevant experience in nonprofit grant writing.
